    Various lakes and reservoirs in the city, such as Blue Cypress Lake, Lake Garcia and Stick Marsh also offer fantastic bass fishing opportunities.

  • Natural preserves
    Sebastian hosts numerous nature destinations. On top of the list is the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, a 5.5-acre rookery island supporting a wide diversity of habitats and bird and wildlife species. It was the first designated wildlife refuge in the United States.

    The St. Sebastian River Preserve State Park is home to grassy longleaf pine forests, which serve as habitats for a wide variety of birds, wildlife, and native plants. It is also part of the Great Florida Birding Trail. The St. Sebastian River features canoeing, boating, and fishing.

    The Indian River Lagoon was designated an Estuary of National Significance. It is not only a famed fishing destination, it is also home to 4,000 species of plants and animals, the most in any North American estuary.

    Sebastian offers easy access to the white sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean coast. Located just 2 to 5 miles from the city via the Wabasso Bridge, the beaches offer a wealth of activities including swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and scuba diving. Among the beach facilities are picnic areas, playgrounds, shower rooms, boardwalks, and more.
